Blog 23: Only 50 grams between me an 89 kilos

A quick one today.

This week my fellow Kilos for Kids fundraiser made her second donation milestone: reaching 10 kilos.
Her success makes me ache to beat my own personal best of 88 kilos having gone under the 90 kilo mark earlier this year only to have a change in jobs, habits and food put me back over the dreaded line.

6 days a week at the gym for 9 weeks now and that line is back in site.
Today... the blessed scales laughed at me.

90.05

Can you believe that?

That is a sneeze away from 89.something.

AAARRRGGGH.

Hopefully having eaten well today, another work out tonight/tomorrow I should be able to report the magic 88-89 number REALLY soon!

P.s if you want to support Nicci in her second donation milesone- please click on the link to go to her fundraiser page. Donate or leave a message to support her please.

Blog 22. It has been 26 weeks since my last confession...

Quietly.... hello!

Please forgive me, it has been 26 weeks since my last confession.
A lot has happened in the real world of Kilos For Kids.
Firstly I started a new full time job! I can't believe it has been nearly six months already!

I love it, it is my real big girl job. I could do this for a very long time.
BUT! It has meant that my life is now a series of repetitive, organised days, scheduled to the minute!

I didn't prioritise blog time. I didn't prioritise my loyal followers.
For that I am eternally sorry.

I did let the new bakery around the corner from my new job set my weight loss goals back a few kilos- hence my first confession.

I had allowed my weight to bounce back to 94.5!!
So what did I do about it?

I decided to take on Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation Challenge.

I paid the $199 (under duress, then realised it was penalty for letting the weight come back on)
I logged in, checked my guilt at the door, took some "before photos" ran a kilometre time trial and

GOT BACK INTO ACTION!

Since then, I have incorporated an eating plan with meals cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients, taken my lunch to work daily and squeezed in 6 gym routines a week. That's right 6 days of gym!!
(hence why the lack of blog time... sorry....)

Where am I now??? I am now running 15-17 minutes on the treadmill without stops- so that is 2 kms straight!

And back to 91.2

What is next? in the words of Forest Gump... (not the reference to chocolate)

"I just felt like runnin...."

So run I shall....

Catch you next week if you are still reading!
As penance, I will upload my new "before" photos at week 8. The week 4 photos are already showing improvement

I am hoping to achieve the big 10 kilo mark by the end of the 12 week challenge.
I hope you are still with me!

XOXO

Blog 21: Easter- a time for new beginnings?

Good morning all! I hope you all have a fabulous Easter and that you make good use of the four days off ( I hope you get some time off at least!) and take a minute to remember the true meaning of Easter before the chocolate manufacturers got a hold of it!

I have already partaken in some chocolate consumption- though I do have to say if you dish out the portion that you plan on eating and stick to it- it does make the chocolate eating much more intentional.

Eat it. Enjoy it and do it on purpose- don't mindlessly eat a bag of little eggs and then get to the bottom and go oops.

I haven't lost anything further this week (in fact I gained 300gms) simply due to some time management issues and not being able to prioritise the exercise. It has shown me that if I want to keep this weight off permanently I need to permanently have exercise in my life. So with three more days off from "paid" work... I will be getting back out there.

I have also added an exercise bike to my living room- and hoping to clock up some mileage and report some new goals and results there soon!

Have a fabulous Easter! and remember 1 minute on the lips= 1 year on the hips and probably 1kg on the scales!!

XOXOXO

Blog 19: No saggy baggy elephants!

 Good morning...... another 0.8kilos gone!

I asked the universe to please allow me to lose all my weight without getting baggy skin. And when I was getting cranky that my losses were coming in grams rather than kilos (that it was happening in small lots) I then realised that maybe it was so that I wouldn't go all saggy baggy elephant.

So I am now at peace with just over a kilo every 2 weeks.

Starting weight: 96.9
Current Weight: 88.5
Total loss now: 8.4 kilos

My new scales also do BMI and my fat percentage... it tells me I have 31.7 kilos of fat... YUCK. Thats 35%

So for my friend DAN the MAN.... I gotta bit of work to do huh?

I am trying to make room in the budget for some group PT sessions to get the toning and the muscle strengthening happen. All in good time!
And this week we started a GoFundraise page which even has a goal thermometer to show how we are going. It's a shame, but we can't have it read the first $384 we raised.... but still. We are on the way!

So if you want to show your support in what we are trying to do..... then click HERE and it will taken to our fundraiser page. I can be grateful enough for the support so far... and I am hoping that my other friends who have waited in the sidelines now understand that I mean business! No fads! This is going to be the way I make a difference in this world and I hope that you can help me do it too!

I wonder what the women in the Cambodia Centre for Girls would think if they knew I was walking my ass off in the hope that my friends would chip in and help them out and stay safe.... interesting thought.

Hope you all have a fab week and cheer me on walking in the wind and cold!

XOXO

Blog 18: It's the little things that count

Well it is crazy house this morning... two dinosaur boys and grumpy adults.
We had a massive day yesterday enjoying the spontaneity of the local festival- face painting, jumping castles, rides and then we took the boys for a run around a big park. Lots of energy expended there by us adults keeping up with them too!!

The offer to crash on the couch was inviting- but I realised that it is always the exercise you do when you are tired that makes the difference. So the Run Keeper went on and I did a solo walk for a change- managed to knock off 5 klicks in the hour and went a different path than usual with a few good hills.

I was grateful when I got up this morning that I was still in the 80 somethings- something I saw dissapear after our night out to dinner with friends and a few nights later for our anniversary. It was so ironic that the night we refused desert the staff came out with their famous creme brulee with a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY written in chocolate around the indulgent plate. So it has taken some much more stoic efforts to get back there again... hopefully next week 88 something and then I won't have to worry about the possibility of bouncing back to 90- it is heartbreaking!

Starting Weight 96.9
Current Weight 89.3
Total Loss 7.6 Kilos

I hope you all have a great week of choosing the stairs, parking a bit further away, taking the pram or just not choosing the couch!

Catch you next week!
XOXOXO

Blog 17: Yeah baby YEAH BABY!!

GOOOOOD MORNING BLOG WORLD!!!!!

YEAAAAAHHAAAAAH!

Well, it finally clicked over on the scales! I must apologise for a Saturday weigh in but I really needed for the scales to reflect how I was feeling; lighter and a little fitter... just 80 something! But all week 90.4 then 90.0 it was TEASING me all week. I was determined. I refused the hot cross buns.... I ate sushi when I wanted schnitzel burgers, I ate the Tom Yum when the girls were eating creamy curries.... I walked, I jogged, I pushed that pram full of heavy boys.....

and Finally.

Starting Weight: 96.9
Current Weight: 89.7
Total Loss:   7.2

Oh yeah! Thats another half a kilo... and in the 80 somethings. SWEET.

A good blog is a quick blog: so adios!
